Our holiday home in the Veluwe

Peace, nature and room to move: that is why this spot matters to us. So we built our holiday home here on the Veluwe—a place to switch off properly.

Why this place?

Our chalet stands in Hoenderloo, in the woods of the Veluwe, at recreation park De Rimboe & De Woeste Hoogte. Close enough to home that we can go on a whim. When you arrive, you feel it straight away: space, quiet, outside air. No rush.

Our favourite moments

One of the nice moments of the day is the morning: starting quietly with a cup of coffee or tea and looking out at the forest around the house. You regularly see birds in the trees and with a bit of luck a squirrel also shows itself. A simple start to the day, but that's exactly why it's so nice.

What we like so much

What we like so much about the Veluwe is the variety. One day we do nothing at all and just enjoy the peace. And on other days we go out: walking, cycling or a trip nearby. Mike, for example, is often on the mountain bike, and for that this area is perfect.

The house

We put together the interior of our holiday home with great care. We wanted it to feel cosy, warm and comfortable, but also practical. A place where you feel at home right away, whether you come as a family, as a couple or with a group of friends. After a day outdoors, we love to end the day with a barbecue in the garden, or with a quiet evening indoors.
