Veluwe nature near Hoenderloo — walking and cycling

Walking and cycling from Hoenderloo

From the holiday home straight towards forest and cycle paths

From Woeste Hoogte nr 15 you do not need to drive far to be outside. From the park you can walk towards the forest and quickly reach quiet cycle paths. National Park De Hoge Veluwe is nearby, and bikes can be hired through reception on request.

Walking from the home

For a short walk, you do not need to get in the car. From the park you walk straight towards the trees, good for a quiet morning or for getting outside again at the end of the day.

The paths can feel different by season: dry and sandy in warmer periods, sometimes muddy after rain. Bring shoes that can handle sand and damp forest paths.

On our blog we also share child-friendly walks and routes we have walked ourselves. Useful when you want to know not only where to go, but also whether the distance works for the whole family.

Cycling in the area

Around Hoenderloo there are many cycle paths through forest and open heathland. You can make a short loop from the park or plan a longer day towards De Hoge Veluwe, Radio Kootwijk or other places nearby.

Want to hire a bike? That is on request via the park reception. Plan your route calmly in advance, especially when cycling with children or stopping for lunch, ice cream or a short break along the way.
