On January 6 and 7 there was snow on the Veluwe. We were at holiday home Woeste Hoogte 15 and walked in the forest near Hoenderloo. The landscape was quieter and lighter than usual.
Fresh snow muffles sound. You mainly hear your own footsteps. The air was clear. We walked more slowly than usual and looked for tracks in the snow.
We saw footprints of red deer, wild boar and foxes. Sometimes also a spot where a roe deer had rested. Tracks you rarely see this clearly in dry periods.
